How it counts

Wall area = perimeter × height minus openings; with the ceiling enabled, length × width is added. Litres = area × coats ÷ coverage. Check the coverage on the can (usually 8-12 m²/l per coat) - cheap paints cover less and may need an extra coat.

Spare

Add 5-10% for touch-ups, drips and future repairs. Order tinted paint with the spare included right away: a second batch can differ in shade.
