Tariffs

The preset tariffs are in Belarusian rubles (BYN); the custom tariff works with any currency - the cost comes out in whatever currency you enter. The calculator automatically fetches the current household electricity tariffs of Belarus from energosbyt.by (refreshed daily). Apartments with a gas stove pay the regular tariff; homes with electric stoves and no gas get a subsidised, lower one. The two-zone tariff pays off if you have a two-rate meter and use much of your electricity at night. If the tariffs failed to load, enter your own - it is printed on your utility bill.

About power

The exact figure is on the appliance's nameplate or in its manual; the table gives typical ranges. Thermostat-controlled appliances (refrigerator, water heater, iron, space heater) run in cycles, so their average consumption is well below the nameplate power: for those it is fairer to use an average value or meter readings.
